How to apply?
All UK visa applications have to be made at UK Visa Application Centre located
in Seoul.
Making a visa application
-
Complete your visa application form. Ensure that you complete all the sections
correctly. If you make a mistake in filling in any of the sections you will need
to make the change on the form & sign against it.

Please bring along the following documents to the Visa Application centre
-
Completed visa application form, signed and dated
-
Your signed and valid passport or travel document from the date of application
with at least 2 blank pages
-
A photocopy of the data page of your passport (the page which has your
photograph and personal details)
-
Your passport-sized 45mm x 35mm colour photograph. This should be:
-
Taken against a white background
-
Clear and good quality
-
Printed on normal photographic paper
-
Full face without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless worn for
cultural or religious reasons
-
Taken not longer than 3 months prior to the date of application
(Please note that we may not accept photographs which do not meet these
specifications)

The correct visa fee payable in Korean Won (cash) only.
-
Supporting documents and copies of these relevant to your application as
suggested in the documents required.
Please note: Original documents which are not accompanied by copies will not be
returned by the Embassy.
For student visas, please apply maximum 3 months in advance but minimum
3 weeks before of your course start date.
Who needs to submit the application?
You must submit your visa application in person. You cannot submit it through
an agent, friend or family member.
From 11 October 2007 every applicant aged 5 or over will need to have his/her
fingerprints scanned and all applicants of whatever age will have to have their
photograph taken.. Under 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult when
giving their biometrics, this cannot be a member of the VAC staff. Biometrics
cannot be taken visa applicants under the age of 16 who are unaccompanied and
this will delay the processing of your visa application as a visa application
can only be processed after your biometrics have been taken.
Diplomats
ONLY persons in the following categories can continue to submit their
applications to the Visa Section at the British Embassy however they should
contact the Visa Section at the British Embassy, prior to submitting their
application.
Alternatively, they can submit their application at the Visa Application
Centre.

Serving Government Ministers of State (or equivalents) recognized by HMG
traveling to the UK on the official business of their government.

Diplomats accredited to the UK
-
Diplomats transiting to or from a place where they are accredited
-
Diplomats visiting the UK on the official business of their Government
-
Diplomatic couriers
ALL other Diplomats must make their Application at the Visa Application Centre.
Passport/Visa Collection
Processed applications can be collected from the UK Visa Application Centre
where the application was originally submitted. Applicants may collect the
passport in person or may assign a travel agent, tour operator, friend or
relative to collect it on their behalf. Applicants collecting their passport in
person must present the copy of their passport bio-page at the collection
counter (this bio-page will have been stamped by the Visa Application Centre
when the application was made). Agents and other persons collecting passports
on behalf of an applicant must present the stamped bio-page and a letter of
authorization signed by the applicant. Alternatively you may choose to have
your passport and original documents delivered via Courier service. Please
speak to our staff when you make your application.
Processing Time
Most straightforward, non-settlement individual applications are processed
within 1 week of receipt by the Visa Section of the British Embassy. If
an interview or further documents are required the processing time will vary
according to the next available interview slot and/or how long it takes to
carry out additional checks or receive additional documentation. We therefore
recommend that you apply at least six weeks before your intended date of
travel. Please do not purchase your travel tickets until the issue of your visa
has been confirmed.
Interview with an Entry Clearance Officer
Issue or refusal of a visa is based on the assessment of your application by an
Entry Clearance Officer at the British Embassy. The Entry Clearance Officer may
decide to interview you if they need more information before making a decision
on your application. An interview time and date will be given by the UK Visa
Application Centre. All interviews will be conducted at the British Embassy,
Seoul.
